Pregnancy is a time of great emotions, decisions, and expectations. Along the way, having clear, reliable, and timely information can make a big difference.

Prenatal tests allow us to monitor the baby's development from the earliest weeks with greater precision and sensitivity, providing peace of mind to those going through this unique time.

ULTRASOUNDS

In the context of reproductive and obstetric medicine, ultrasounds allow us to observe in detail the organs and structures that are fundamental to the health of the pregnant person and the developing baby.

It is a safe, non-invasive, and repeatable technique that uses ultrasound to generate images of the body.

Medical team performing ultrasound

At Fertilia we perform:

  • Gynecological and obstetric ultrasounds
  • Breast and transvaginal ultrasounds
  • Fetal morphological ultrasound
  • Nuchal translucency ultrasound (NT Plus)
  • Obstetric, transvaginal, uterine artery, and testicular Doppler ultrasounds
  • General ultrasounds (abdominal, renal, bladder, thyroid, testicular, among others)
  • 4D and 5D ultrasounds

PRENATAL GENETIC COUNSELING

We provide personalized counseling to pregnant women about all available genetic tests. During this consultation, our specialists evaluate the patient's medical history and risk factors to estimate the possibility of transmission or development of fetal abnormalities and recommend the most appropriate tests for each case.

NT PLUS: A KEY TEST IN THE FIRST TRIMESTER

NT Plus is a clinical and ultrasound test that allows for the early detection of possible diseases or abnormalities in fetal development. It is performed between weeks 11 and 13.6 of pregnancy and combines the following factors:

  • Clinical evaluation of the mother: includes weight, height, blood pressure, and medical history.
  • Blood tests (Papp-A and Free Beta HCG): these two substances are secreted by the placenta and, when there is an abnormality in the pregnancy, their concentration may change.
  • Nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound: measures the fluid-filled space behind the baby's neck, an important marker at this stage. A Doppler ultrasound of the uterine arteries is also performed to assess placental circulation.

All this information is integrated using specialized software developed by the Fetal Medicine Foundation UK, which allows the individual risk of abnormalities to be accurately established without the need for invasive studies.

Our professionals are certified by the FMF UK and trained to perform this study with the highest standards of quality and care.

At this very special time, we are at your side with technology, experience, and sensitivity.
